Shifting Sands makes #28 in the David Bash Top 100 albums of 2010 plus new track

Our debut album 'Shifting Sands' made number 26 in the David Bash top 100 albums of 2010 which is not bad going. For those of you that don't know David he is the pop impressario who is behind the International Pop Overthrow fesitivals so we are very pleased to make it into his list. Review of 'Shifting Sands' in the latest issue of Bucketful of Brains

David Bash of International Pop Overthrow has reviewed 'Shifting Sands' in the latest issue of Bucketful of Brains. What's also cool is that there is a great interview with Jason Falkner in it. Here's the review:


'The Sunchymes are a band who clearly and unabashedly worships the ground that Brian Wilson has walked on, and while Shifting Sands couldn’t have been a Brian Wilson solo album, certainly various elements of the “sound”, such as a harpsichord fill here and echoed percussion there, are often utilized. Actually, Shifting Sands is best characterized as a modern sunshine pop album, as many of its tracks are bouncy, upbeat, feelgood numbers-an irony is that “Down At Pallisades” (sic) is probably the saddest sounding of all the tracks, and those of you who like the softer, more reflective side of Baby Lemonade will dig the album’s final tune, “Rose Water”.Shifting Sands is a fine beginning by a gentleman who hopefully has a few other tricks up his sleeve saved for future releases.'
